NCIS - Season 13

The thirteenth season of the American police procedural drama NCIS premiered on September 22, 2015, in the same time slot as in the previous seasons, Tuesdays at 8 pm. and ended on May 17, 2016.[1]

NCIS - Season 13

NCIS revolves around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which conducts criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The series was renewed for a thirteenth season by CBS on Monday, May 11, 2015.[2][3][4]

The series was renewed for a thirteenth season by CBS on Monday, May 11, 2015.[6][7] Production on the 13th season started in late July.[4] On January 5, 2016, CBS announced Weatherly's departure from the series after thirteen seasons.[5] Scottie Thompson returned as Jeanne Benoit, Tony's ex-girlfriend, in episode 8.[8][9] She will return later on in the season.[10]

Scott Bakula, Lucas Black, Zoe McLellan, and Shalita Grant guest starred in the 12th episode of the season as NCIS Special Agent Dwayne Pride, NCIS Special Agent Christopher Lasalle, Special Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody, and Sonja Percy respectively.[11] Tyler Ritter also guest starred in the 12th episode of the season as Luca Sciuto (Abby's brother).[11]

Dedicated viewers of the long-running hit CBS procedural NCIS were saddened by season 13's departure of Michael Weatherly, who played Tony DiNozzo since the beginning. Weatherly's DiNozzo worked as one of the top-ranking agents under boss Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) on the Major Case Response Team and proved to be an integral part of NCIS' success. DiNozzo wasn't always a character that was easy to like, but he was quite good at his job and developed as a person over the course of NCIS' long run. DiNozzo grew especially close to fellow agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), with the two crossing the line from professional to personal partners. Sadly for fans though, Weatherly's tenure on NCIS came to a swift stop in 2015 with the 13th season.

As major a character as Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo was on NCIS, any long-running show is likely to experience some cast upheaval over time. By the time Weatherly took his leave from NCIS after season 13. Ziva, DiNozzo's love interest, had already left the cast, breaking up a couple fans had come to love. One of the factors in Weatherly's decision that DiNozzo should leave the series was the loss of the dynamic between Tony and Ziva. Weatherly missed the onscreen chemistry between the two characters and working with de Pablo. Beyond that, Weatherly had grown a bit bored with playing his NCIS role after 13 years and found himself itching to pursue other projects. When discussing the decision (via TV Insider), Weatherly likened the feeling to staying at a party too long.

When Michael Weatherly opted to leave the series, a plausible reason was written that satisfied a lot of fans. Tony DiNozzo left NCIS when learning that he and Ziva had a daughter together, and he left to help raise her. Michael Weatherly hasn't been inactive since leaving NCIS, and it's hard to judge his departure too harshly despite how much NCIS fans adored DiNozzo. To those on the outside looking in, it may seem hard to sympathize with someone growing tired of starring on a hit TV show, such as Mark Harmon did ahead of NCIS season 19.

Bull came to an end after a six-season run, and for now, it's unclear what Weatherly's plans are for his next major gig. Naturally, many NCIS watchers would love for Weatherly to return to the show as Tony DiNozzo, even if only for a guest appearance. If he elects to do so, the door is wide open, as canonically, "Tiva" are still together and living with their daughter in Paris, and Ziva made her NCIS return during season 17. Considering his hectic schedule as the star of Bull, it's likely Weatherly will take some time to relax for a while before stepping back into the NCIS world.

We have heard rumors that the show has been delayed from being added to Netflix until later in the month. This theory would line up with our usual prediction as to when the series is usually added to Netflix. Last year, season 12 was added to Netflix on August 22nd which roughly fits the same timeline of the rumor.

Season 13 of the evergreen CBS procedural "NCIS" was significant, in part, because it featured the departure of original co-star Michael Weatherly as Agent Tony DiNozzo. The final episode, "Family First," sees Tony leave the team to find out if Ziva (Cote de Pablo) is still alive, as well as take care of their daughter, Tali. But the other 23 episodes of the season were also chock-full of drama, including the aftermath of Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) shooting, the death of former director Tom Morrow (Alan Dale), and an attack on Ducky (Donald McCallum) that dredges up the tragic truth about his brother Nicholas.

(Facebook/NCIS)Sarah Clarke and Duane Henry to make their NCIS debut in episode 23.There are only two episodes left before "NCIS" wraps up its 13th season and Tony DiNozzo bows out from the team. But with a rogue spy targeting every agent, will DiNozzo even survive the season?

But based on some recently released photo stills, it's a safe bet that the surprised look on Tony's face was due to the arrival of Trent Kort (David Dayan Fisher). The former CIA agent was last seen way back in season 8 when Gibbs and his team saved him, along with two other "NCIS" members. What role Kort will play remains to be seen, but there's no question that he can be useful in their hunt for the missing spy. 041b061a72
